I designed this quilt based on the mosaics found in and around the Nebraska State Capitol Building. The flying geese blocks were done with 1/4 inch parallel quilting lines, feathered wreaths were quilted in and around the star corner blocks, and feathers and stars were used in the star corner block setting triangles. The large blue center blocks were quilted using grid work and a geometric star pattern. This quilt was Juried into the Denver National Quilt Festival (2008), and Quilt Expo Wisconsin (2008). lt also won 4th place at the Lancaster County Fair (2008). Also of note, this quilt was mistakenly entered in the hand quilting category at the 2009 NE State Fair where it was awarded 1st place by a NQA Certified judge, before I discovered the mistake and withdrew it. This quilt measures 92X92 and is for sale. Please contact me if interested.
