This quilt was inspired by a poem by J. Chunghoo. It depicts harmony in opposition. Fire/ice, Sun/Moon, Yin/yang. The moon face is quilted on satin, with trapunto behind the features. The fabric in the sun is hand painted to give the impression of flames which is then accented with the quilting using verigated orange and red thread. Silver shooting stars are quilted through out the background as well as several different planets. The rest of the back ground filler is McTavishing with monfilament thread. This quilt won first place in the mixed division at the Lancaster County Fair 2009, and second place at the NE State Fair 2009.
